Headlines

Add Our News Headlines to Your Web Page!

Use our RSS feeds to stream JoinTogether.org news headlines to your own blog, website, Facebook page, iGoogle -- or anywhere else you can use RSS feeds. The feeds include headlines, summaries and links back to the full article on JoinTogether.org -- and they automatically keep your website or personal page up to date with the latest news from Join Together.

Available Feeds
The following links are the available RSS feeds, in XML format. Enter the link of your desired feed into your RSS reading or publishing tool when it asks for the feed URL (Hint: right-click on a feed below and copy the shortcut or link location, then switch to the RSS tool and paste).  If you want to sample the stories as normal web pages, visit our news section.

Facebook Page
If you have a Facebook account, you can read our news on your profile or organization page -- and help promote JoinTogether.org at the same time! Read the instructions posted on our Facebook page. Similar RSS tools may exist for MySpace and other social networking sites.

Blogs, iGoogle, RSS Readers, etc.
In any tool for displaying RSS feeds, just grab a feed link from above and paste it into the field for the feed URL.

Displaying RSS Feeds on Your Website
Your webmaster simply needs to choose a method for converting each desired RSS feed to web page format (HTML). It only needs to be set up once, and the process can be quite simple. After that, the headlines will be automatically updated on your website.

You may freely use these feeds to keep your website fresh. We only ask two things if you syndicate our news: please attribute JoinTogether.org as the source along with a link to www.jointogether.org, and drop us a line at webmaster@jointogether.org to let us know.

Feedroll
We recommend Feedroll to those not already familiar with RSS/XML technologies. No programming is required; simply fill out the form and Feedroll will provide simple Javascript code to paste into your web page where you want our headlines to appear. If you need more help, click here (PDF) for detailed instructions on implementing Join Together news feeds with Feedroll.

(NOTE: We have experienced occassional service outages with Feedroll. At this time, we caution use of it for mission-critical, high volume web pages.)

    Other Tools
Many other tools for converting RSS into HTML are available for a variety of platforms, including .NET, ASP, Perl, and PHP. If you don't see what you need here, use your favorite search engine to search for "RSS to HTML" and your platform of choice.
  • Feed Digest is a free self-serve tool for automatically publishing an RSS feed to your website. Similar to Feedroll, but requires more knowledge of HTML if you want to customize the appearance of the news headlines.

  • FeedZilla is a paid self-serve tool similar in function to Feed Digest and Feedroll. It has a good "wizard" interface for styling the appearance of your feeds, requiring no HTML knowledge.

  • Jawfish is another service that converts RSS feeds to Javascript you can paste into your web page.

  • CaRP displays RSS on PHP enabled sites.

  • DexX has tips on displaying RSS with ASP.

  • MSDN provides information about ASP.NET and RSS.
